As Emeka Rollas rounds off his 8-year tenure as President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), he has announced a bumper programme for the guild in 2025.

Rollas, who was first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2022, expressed his commitment to empowering actors and taking the guild to greater heights.

According to him, the guild will launch its innovative super app, which will seamlessly manage payments for memberships and other services on March 13. The same day, the guild will also commission a fully furnished complex to house its Abuja National Headquarters.

From March 15-19, the AGN will partner with the Pan-African Film Development Foundation to host the maiden edition of the South Africa and Nigeria Film Week in Johannesburg.

On March 19, the guild will hold a health awareness campaign, “AGN Walk for Life,” across all 34 state chapters.

Furthermore, the 10th of April has been declared Junior Pope Day of Safety and Occupational Hazards.

“It’s a no-shoot-day for all actors. A day actors reflect on occupational hazards, safety and precautionary measures before filming.”

In July, the AGN will host the 2nd Nollywood and African Films Investment Summit & Awards (NAFISA), while the third edition of the AGN International Festival (AGNIF) will take place in November 2025.

Rollas expressed pride and gratitude for the guild’s achievements, and his commitment to empowering actors remains stronger than ever.
