A passenger on an Air France flight from Paris to Boston tragically passed away on Tuesday despite life-saving attempts by a doctor on board, the airline confirmed.
The flight company told NBC Boston that the passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed, became “taken ill” during flight AF334.
The plane departed from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and landed at Boston’s Logan International Airport just before 5 p.m., slightly behind schedule by about 16 minutes.
“Despite the assistance of a doctor on board, the customer couldn’t be rescued,” the airline stated.
Emergency crews were seen meeting the plane upon arrival, NBC Boston reported.
No further information has been provided regarding the individual’s condition or the circumstances leading to their death.
Details about the total number of passengers on the flight were also not disclosed.
Air France emphasised that its crew members are equipped to handle medical emergencies.
“Air France reminds that its crew members are regularly trained to handle these kinds of situations,” the airline added.
