Renowned Nollywood producer, Thompson Ukeki has disclosed that the bid to merge the worlds of entertainment and essential services made him to shift his focus toward the tourism and transportation sectors.

Ukeki, in an interview with Vanguard on New Year eve, said he aimed to empower young people across Nigeria and Africa through job creation and innovative solutions to pressing challenges in these industries.

According to him, his latest initiative, the “King Drive U” app, is designed to enhance the tourism experience while addressing critical issues within transportation.

He explained, “My ambition has always extended beyond profit-making. I aim to create employment opportunities within Nigeria and other African nations.”

“The app seeks to alleviate the stress associated with daily commutes, particularly for car owners who often experience fatigue after long workdays. By providing a reliable and efficient transportation option, I believe the app can contribute to a safer driving environment and help reduce road accidents.”

“My vision for ‘King Drive U’ goes beyond just providing a service; it’s about creating a sustainable ecosystem where skilled African youth can thrive,” Ukeki emphasised.

He viewed the app as a vital step toward empowering young people, helping them secure meaningful employment in the tourism and transportation industries.

“Through this venture, I aim to redefine the relationship between Nollywood and other sectors, demonstrating that creativity can drive social change and economic growth.”

“By integrating entertainment with essential services, I hope to inspire a new wave of entrepreneurial spirit among African youths, paving the way for a brighter future in both tourism and transportation,” he stressed.
