SOKOTO: Former Sokoto State Governor Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa has said that, the Northern Star Youth Movement NSYM is designed to address Northern Region’s political and social economic challenges.
The Movement which was recently unveiled at Arewa House Kaduna witnessed the attendance of an army of Youths across the 19 states of the Northern Region.
Bafarawa who was a two term former governor of Sokoto state made the remarks while addressing Journalists on the Northern Youths Empowerment initiative an NGO recently lunched by group of like minds at his residence in Sokoto metropolis.
He stressed the importance of supporting young people and giving them leadership opportunities under the mentorship of experienced elders.
“Time has come for Nigerian youths to lead, I am optimistic they will perform excellent, under the tutelage and guidance of their elders,”
“Plans are underway to establish offices for the movement across the 19 northern states of the North aimed at fostering unity and peaceful coexistence amongst Youths in the region through collaboration.
” The Youths of today are digital and we, the old generation are analogue, we must collaborate together to achieve the set objectives, We need the support of each other.”
Bafarawa who is currently the National chairman of the Youths Movement said, the initiative is the beginning of a transformative movement for Youths in the Northern Region.
“The Northern Star Youth Movement is more than an organization, It symbolizes a call to action for young men in Northern Nigeria,” she said.
He said the new initiative is a non governmental, non political and non profit making organization, “It focuses only on addressing the region’s security, social, and economic challenges devoid of political interference.
” Northern Nigeria faces lots of challenges that requires collaborations and innovative solutions between the elderly and youths.
“Bafarawa, ” Our goals and missions is to harness the mental and physical strength of every individual in the North to achieve the region’s social and economic development,”
