Ejike Asiegbu returns to stage as ‘Olu Akengbuwa’

Veteran actor Ejike Asiegbu is set to return to the stage in the epic play “Olu Akengbuwa” on December 30, in Warri, Delta State. Asiegbu, who first played the role in 2015, is excited to reprise his character and promises to bring his A-game. The bulky actor will lead other top stars, including Nobert Young, Peter Fatomilola and Ibinabo Fiberesima, to Warri in the grand performance of the epic play.

In a chat with NollyNow, the veteran actor said that he’s excited about returning to Warri kingdom again. He promises to bring his wealth of experience and unique craft to the stage

Asiegbu has extensively studied the Warri Kingdom and its monarchs, ensuring he is well-equipped to do justice to his role. He will perform in typical Itsekiri language, adding authenticity to the play.

On what he’s bringing to the stage this time, Asiegbu said, “I am bringing my act like never before.”

“I am also bringing my wealth of experience and using my lines to send appropriate messages and my expressions in a typical Itsekiri language. ‘Olu Akengbuwa’ tells the story of the 16th Olu of Warri, who was the longest occupier of the throne and the wealthiest of his time.
