PORT HARCOURT – A Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has nullified the All Progressives Congress (APC) congresses in the state.
The court annulled the congress that produced Chief Tony Okocha following a contempt of court motion filed by a faction led by the party’s embattled chairman, Chief Emeka Beke.
The court had previously issued an order halting the congresses, but APC proceeded with the process. Members of the party who secured the court order returned to inform the court that the congresses were held despite the injunction.
Justice Godswill Obomanu, after hearing the arguments from both sides, declared the congresses null and void.
