The Labour Party (LP) on Thursday lost another member of the House of Representatives to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This development comes just a week after the party lost five members.
At the plenary session, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas announced the defection of Ajang Iliya, the LP lawmaker representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in Plateau State.
Reading Iliya’s letter of defection, Speaker Abbas cited “the crisis in the leadership of the Labour Party” and other related issues as reasons for the move.
In his letter, Iliya stated that he finds it “difficult to align with the Labour Party’s position on current issues.”
