Lagos- Two drivers were on Friday docked at the Ogudu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly inflicting bodily harm on one Mr Justus Ogbutwu, over a minor road accident.

The accused, Bunmi Adetutu, 22, who lives at No. 45, Aladelola Str., Cele, Ketu, and Ayo Falope, 24, who resides at No. 17, Araromi Str., Ketu, Lagos, both pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm and conspiracy.

The offences, according to the prosecutor, Cpl. Gbenga Salami, contravene Sections 409 and 171 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.

The prosecutor told the court that the offences were committed on Feb. 25, 2012, at CMD Road, Ikosi, Ketu, Lagos.

“The accused and the complainant were involved in an accident and instead of allowing the police to address the situation, the accused instead used a broken bottle to stab Ogbutwu on the face and hand,’’ Salami said.

Salami also told the court that the complainant had spent N45,000 to treat himself and that he had yet to recover from the stabbing.

The Magistrate, Mrs Bola Folarin-Williams granted the duo N50,000 bail each, with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till March 21 for mention. (NAN)
