Vanguard Newspapers celebrated its 40th anniversary at its Kirikiri Canal Corporate Headquarters in Lagos.

The event brought together key figures, including Chairman and Publisher Vanguard Newspaper, Uncle Sam Amuka, the first editor Mr. Muyiwa Adetiba, second editor Mr. Toye Akiode, and third editor Mr. Frank Aigbogun. Madam Bunmi Sofola, Treena Kwenta, and other past editors and columnists were also present.

The day began with the Vanguard Media Christian Fellowship’s 2024 End-of-Year Thanksgiving Service themed “Divine Restoration.” Reverend Joel Dunapo of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Edu Zonal Headquarters, delivered a sermon that encouraged reflection and gratitude.

Attendees used the opportunity to reconnect and share memories of Vanguard’s journey, highlighting the contributions of early editors like Madam Helen Ovbiageli, Mr. Bayoor Odulana, and Mr. Jimi Disu, who helped shape the newspaper’s growth.

The celebration underscored Vanguard’s commitment to journalism and its role in Nigerian media. As the organisation looks to the future, it continues to build on the foundation laid over four decades.
