The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) has dismissed recent allegations of embezzlement leveled against its leadership, describing them as baseless, malicious, and contrary to the principles of transparency and integrity upheld by the association. 

The allegations, published by an online platform accused the NAOSS leadership of financial impropriety, but the association has categorically denied these claims.

 According to a statement signed by its leadership, the publication is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of NAOSS and mislead the public. 

“The attention of NAOSS has been drawn to a recent publication containing unfounded allegations against the leadership of the association. These claims are entirely false and misleading, clearly aimed at undermining the unity and progress of our association,” the statement read. 

NAOSS emphasized its commitment to due process, transparency, and ethical conduct, reaffirming its role as a symbol of exemplary student leadership. The association also called on media outlets, including Sahara Reporters, to uphold journalistic standards by verifying the accuracy of their reports before publication. 

“Publishing unverified and unsubstantiated claims not only harms the reputation of individuals and organizations but also fosters unnecessary discord within the student community,” the statement added. 

The association urged its members, stakeholders, and the general public to disregard divisive narratives and reaffirmed its dedication to promoting the welfare and development of its members. 

The statement was signed by key officials of the association, including Senator Hammed Oyelade, Global President; Comr. Ogunga Benjamin, Vice President; and other executive and senate leaders. 

NAOSS assured its members that it would not be distracted by external forces or unscrupulous attempts to disrupt its operations and unity.
