The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, CITN has officially released the results of its October 2024 Diet Examination, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s evolution.

The Governing Council expressed its joy over the success of students who participated in this examination cycle.

“We are delighted to celebrate the success of our students,” said CITN Registrar/ Chief Executive, Afolake Oso, “Their hard work and dedication have led to this achievement, and we commend all of them for their efforts.”

Students are encouraged to check their results via the CITN portal and the established Telegram group. In a forward-looking announcement, the CITN revealed plans to transition from traditional physical exams to a Computer-Based Examination, CBE format beginning in April 2025.

“The move to Computer-Based Examinations will enhance the convenience and efficiency of our assessments,” Oso stated. “We have already tested the CBT format successfully with our Foundation students, and we believe this transition will significantly benefit our Professional Examination 1 and 2 candidates.”

Despite the positive developments, the Institute has expressed concerns over the low attendance of foundation students at past CBT sensitisation programmes. These sessions, held on Thursdays before diet exams, play a crucial role in familiarizing students with the CBT platform.

“Unfortunately, the turnout at these sensitisation programmes has always been low,” Oso noted. “We encourage all current and prospective students to take advantage of these opportunities to familiarize themselves with the new examination format.”

The CITN is urging students to attend upcoming sensitisation and demo programmes, especially in preparation for the April and October 2025 diet examinations. Oso emphasised the importance of these programmes for optimal exam performance, stating, “Students should also consider registering with accredited Tuition houses and utilising recommended reading materials to enhance their chances of success.”

With this transition to CBE, the CITN is committed to maintaining high standards in its examinations, ultimately aiming to elevate the quality of tax professionals within the industry.
