In recognition of their exceptional contributions to financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills development among youths in Ogun State, the Finance team of the African Youth Circle led by Temilola Aderonke Onalaja has been honoured by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN’s Directorate of Education and Innovation in Ogun State.

Onalaja, who led the Finance team of the Africa Youth Circle throughout the duration of the project, was pinpointed as the driving force and brain behind its success. “Her leadership and strategic direction enabled the team to deliver high quality programs that have been well received by the community and have left a lasting impact, ” according to a release made available to Vanguard. It further noted that Onalaja’s dedication to financial literacy aligns with her professional background and passion for youth empowerment.

Onalaja who holds an MBA from the University of Chichester, UK; a Level-7 qualification in Strategic Management and Leadership from OTHM, and certifications in revenue cycle and cost-effectiveness from the Healthcare Financial Management Association, HFMA, currently serves as the Financial Controller for Aco Systems Nigeria, overseeing complex financial operations and driving strategic financial initiatives.

NYCN noted that the team’s initiative, known as the Project – Financial Literacy/Entrepreneurial Skills Development, has had a significant impact on the youths of Ogun State through targeted workshops, essay competitions, seminars, and hands-on training, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive economy.

“As a leader, she continues to inspire the youth to adopt sound financial practices and entrepreneurial mindsets, helping them to navigate economic challenges and seize opportunities.

The NYCN Directorate of Education and Training led by Comrade Tosin Adesile, while appreciating Onalaja’s Financial team for supporting the 2024 National Youth Day event, a program geared towards shaping the future of the Nigerian youth, said the recognition of the African Youth Circle Finance Team “is a testament to the importance of fostering financial literacy and entrepreneurship among young people.”
