As Bingham University Karu, holds its 5th combined convocation ceremony on Saturday, a total of 1,602 undergraduates and 615 postgraduates will receive degrees.

The Vice Chancellor of Bingham University, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba, who disclosed this at a news briefing held on Tuesday to herald activities lined up for the event, said 57  out of the 1,602 undergraduates will bag first-class.

The convocation, according to the vice chancellor, will also witness the university’s inaugural cohort of 41 PhD graduates.

Speaking on the convocation, he said:” This year, 1,602 undergraduates and 615 postgraduates will receive degrees.

“Highlights include 57 first-class undergraduates and Bingham University’s inaugural cohort of 41 PhD graduates. “

Prof. Ayuba also disclosed that the university would confer its first Emesitus Professorship upon Professor Yakubu Mela Alhasan for “his distinguished contributions to academics, mentorship, and community service at the event. “

The Vice Chancellor extended his gratitude to all stakeholders, past and present, who have supported Bingham University’s growth.

He invited everyone to join in this special milestone, thanking the press for their role in sharing the university’s achievements.

Recall that Bingham University,was established by the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in 2005.
The university, founded on Christian principles to deliver quality education, now boasts of 15 faculties, 54 departments, and 80 programs compsising 40 undergraduate and 40 postgraduate programs across its Karu and Jos campuses.

The week-long celebrations, according to him,commenced with a commemorative church service and include  series of events such as a press briefing, novelty volleyball match, entrepreneurship fair, convocation lecture by Professor King David Terna Yawe, and the Vice Chancellor’s Luncheon.

“The grand ceremony on Saturday, 9th November, will recognize the academic achievements of the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 graduating  classes, “he added.
