Smartphones have become essential tools to students in Nigeria’s tertiary schools. As a result of this, it is a common sight to see different students with different makes of mobile phones.

Some of the students who spoke to us, highlighted differences reason they use the models of phones they use. 

A student of Legacy University Okija, Anambra State, Miss Amaka Ezeh said “I make use of Infinix smart 5 mobile phone. So far, the phone has enabled me improve so much in my academic life. Infinix smart 5, enables me to carry out researches, do my assignments and also, acquire more knowledge, thereby becoming versatile in my field of study. 

She further explained that, Infinix smart 5 has also helped her in the aspect of communication. She said “Infinix smart 5 has a favorable network for communication. It has really helped me to interact well with my family and friends, at near and far distances. It enables me to reach out to them anytime. 

Another student, Miss Anyaogu Joy, said that she makes use of iPhone 6 x plus. She said “One of the major reasons I love my mobile phone is because of the camera quality. With my phone camera, I can take a lot of good pictures that sometimes doesn’t need editing. This most times, has contributed to the good grades I make in school, because I offer photography as a course in school. 

She concluded by saying that, another reason she makes use of iPhone 6 x plus, is because it helps her to generate income. In her words “I run an online business with my phone. With my phone, I can advertise my products in all social media platforms, thereby persuading customers to patronize me. The income I generate through my phone, I always use it to support myself financially in school.

Also, Miss Victoria Edward, stated that she makes use of iPhone 7 plus. She explained that, her mobile phone aids her to check out activities on & off campus that are usually aired or published on newspapers. Miss Victoria Edward also mentioned that her mobile phone helps her to develop herself academically.

She said: “My mobile phone has greatly enhanced my academic life, with my phone, I can download pdfs that are related to my courses, read ahead for a next class using my course outlines, read books and see videos that encourages me to be better academically.
