Labour Party (LP), Kenneth Okonkwo has called on President Bola Tinubu to apologise to the minors who were arraigned among #EndBadGovernance protesters.

He made the call on Tuesday as a guest on Arise Television in reaction to some protesters who were arraigned last week for protesting against bad governance in August.

Okonkwo who described the charges brought against them as ‘wrong’, said the minors must be compensated.

He said, “The president has to apologise to those children and compensate them adequately. It was very wrong. The charges were wrong.

“The process of detaining them was wrong. The process of arraigning them was wrong. They were just malnourished, maltreated, and mistreated in that whole process. The police should be apologising to them.”

President Tinubu, on Monday, directed, attorney-general of the federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi to withdraw the charges against the minors.

On Tuesday, a federal high court in Abuja struck out the suit against 119 persons, who allegedly participated in the protest.
