ABUJA – Stakeholders, including members and executives of the League of Women Voters of Nigeria (NILOWV), have gathered in Abuja for the organization’s National Extraordinary Annual General Meeting (AGM) to dialogue on issues tied to women’s rights and political participation in the country.

In a statement issued by NILOWV’s President, Hon. Irene Awunah Ikyegh, the organization noted that the event will focus on reviewing the interventions, action plans, and agenda setting for the organization.

Ikyegh explained that the AGM will feature keynote addresses from prominent speakers, panel discussions on critical topics impacting women and girls, and workshops and training sessions.

According to her, further highlights include the election and induction of new executive committee members.

Ikyegh maintained that the confab not only serves as a forum for strategic planning but also offers networking opportunities for members, partners, and stakeholders to collaborate in advancing NILOWV’s advocacy for Nigerian women and girls.

She stated, “This meeting will bring together relevant stakeholders and key members of women-led organizations to discuss issues at the front burner of national discourse as it affects women and elections.

“It will set agenda towards the year 2025 and also feature the official launch of the score card of the organization in the annual year of 2024, which is also her first year in office.

“Together, we can create a brighter future for Nigerian women and girls.”
