The Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Project Monitoring and Chairman of the Oyo State Project Performance and Monitoring Agency, Engineer Muftau Open Salawu, has pledged to donate his entire annual salary to benefit 100 less privileged individuals in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

This initiative is set to make a significant impact in the community, providing much-needed financial support to those facing economic hardships.

According to him, each of the 100 beneficiaries will receive a cash grant of 5,000 Naira, aimed at helping them meet essential needs and improve their quality of life.

He further noted that this gesture is designed to alleviate some of the financial burdens that many families are currently experiencing in the state.

In addition to the cash grants, Salawau disclosed that the event will also feature an exciting raffle draw, where five lucky participants will win an impressive 1 million Naira each.

“The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Al Hussain House, Sabo, Ogbomoso, commencing at 10 AM.”

“It promises to be a day of hope and community togetherness, as individuals come together to support one another in these challenging times.”

Open Salawu, who holds the title of Babalaje of Ogbomoso, expressed that this initiative is driven by his passion for serving the community and is not motivated by financial gain.

He emphasised his commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of the less fortunate, stating,
“This is about giving back to my community and ensuring that those who are struggling have access to the support they need.”

While acknowledging the prevalent economic challenges in Nigeria, the Waziri Jari Nupe highlighted that this philanthropic effort will not be a one-time event but rather a continuous initiative that will take place annually.

He mentioned that the beneficiaries were randomly selected to ensure fairness and transparency in the process.

Salawu, a civil engineer by profession and a proud native of Ogbomoso, was appointed by Governor Seyi Makinde as the Executive Assistant on Project Monitoring.
