ABUJA – Comrade Ayodele Olawande has officially assumed office as the Minister of Youth Development, pledging to prioritize the empowerment and well-being of Nigerian youths.

The newly elevated Minister made this declaration at his office in Abuja, where he outlined his plans to tackle youth-related challenges.

Olawande stated that his primary goal of expanding and improving services that benefit the nation’s youth. He emphasized the need for new policies and the enhancement of existing initiatives to address youth unemployment, promising innovative strategies that would create substantial job opportunities and foster sustainable socio-economic development.

The minister urged Nigerian youths to actively participate in solving the challenges they face while aligning their efforts with the government’s agenda for national prosperity. He stressed the importance of lawfulness, advising young people to refrain from detrimental activities and focus on building a more conducive environment for growth and development.

Olawande, who previously served as the Minister of State for Youth Development, reiterated his commitment to introducing comprehensive policies to meet the needs of the youth population.

He said, “It is my primary goal to diligently improve and expand services to benefit the youths of the nation. I am profoundly committed to serving the nation’s youths on a greater level of dedication.

“Nigerian youths must prioritize abiding by the law and refrain from engaging in detrimental activities. I call for active participation from youths in addressing the various challenges they face, emphasizing the importance of aligning their efforts with the President’s agenda to build a more conducive environment and ensure prosperity for all.

“We will enhance existing initiatives and introduce new policies aimed at tackling the pervasive issue of youth unemployment. Comprehensive policies will be implemented to address the needs of the youth, and innovative strategies will be developed to create substantial job opportunities, thereby empowering the youth for sustainable socio-economic development.”
