Small and Medium Enterprise SME’s owners in the country last week went through the tutelage of digital marketing converged at a one day forum organized by the local search engine and information service provider, VConnect Global Services.
The forum with the theme ‘The Power of Digital Marketing’ was held at Planet One Event Centre, Maryland, Lagos to help the business owners migrate from traditional marketing methodologies to digital marketing for efficient and cost effective business practice.
Speaking at the forum, the facilitator and Territory Sales Manager VConnect Global Services Limited, Mr. Wale Onibudo said that digital marketing has great edge of advantages over traditional marketing in that it is focus targeting, cost effective and measurable in terms of returns on investment (ROI), even though it is a fact that small and medium business owner will not be able to afford high investment driven marketing channels such as TV or Radio.
“Traditional marketing is costly, fragmented and difficult to measure. It’s a fact that a small and medium business owner will not able to afford high investment driven marketing channels such as TV or Radio. However, in the hyper competitive world, if one must survive, marketing has become a NEED but not a comfort” he said.
With internet becoming part of lives, he said various new forms of advertising using internet, and mobile phones have emerged and are now dominating the traditional means of doing business.
Mr. Onibudo further explained that VConnect among other things will cater for the digital marketing needs of businesses in Nigeria, and disclosed that VConnect had already trained more than 1000 business owners till date in the Business Forum series which will continue on a weekly basis for the next ten months.
