Foundation sensitises Akwa Ibom students on basic hygiene tips

 A non-profit organization, Francisco Udofia Foundation Africa, FUFAFRICA, has sensitised students of Uyo High School, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State on basic hygiene tips.

Speaking with newsmen at the event, founder of FUFAFRICA, Francisco Udofia, stressed that the aim of the seminar was to educate the young people on how to stay healthy by practising proper hygiene like regular washing of hands, keeping their environment clean, among others.

  Udofia disclosed that his foundation was carrying out the Health Hygiene project in collaboration with ‘Big Heart- Great Impact Foundation, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

 His words , “FUFAFRICA is a non-profit organization, and we are focusing on Education, Healthcare, women and girl-child  empowerment. Today we are here to educate the young people on basic hygiene tips.

    “We are doing this in collaboration with UNICEF and the Big Heart Great Impact Foundation. And as a foundation, we have done a lot of things in the six states of the South West region.

  “So I feel its  time for me to focus here , and on the Niger Delta region. I am from Akwa Ibom State, so this is a great opportunity for me to also do something here”

  On the number of Schools his foundation has so far reached out in the state on the project, Udofia disclosed that his vision is to  take the project to all public Secondary Schools located in the state.

“I cannot speak for the other foundation. But for my foundation, this is actually the first School we have visited in Akwa Ibom. Actually, our target is visit all the public secondary Schools in the 31 Local government areas (LGAs) of the state.

  “If we have say, five public secondary schools in a particular LGA we want to reach out to all  to educate the students on proper health hygiene.That’s why this is a long term projects. The vision, the whole idea is to influence the young people”
