The Management of Petroleum Products Monitoring Services Limited (PPMSL), charged with the responsibility of carrying out surveillance of  Petroleum Products Distributions and other related oil activities in the Niger Delta, has commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, for his efforts in ensuring the protection of Nigerian interests in the oil industry.

In a statement yesterday, the firm said “history will vindicate the House of Representatives under the able leadership of the young and dynamic Speaker, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, who has demonstrated renewed efforts in sustaining the monitoring of oil and oil related activities in the Niger Delta”.

According to the statement “this patriotic zeal of the Speaker will continue to be a tonic in the efforts of PPMSL to improve its services in this direction”.

It stated that following the encouragement received from the National Assembly, particularly the House of Representatives, it has become necessary to restructure the activities of  PPMSL to enhance its efficiency in the face of the present challenges in the Niger-Delta.

“Arrangements have therefore been concluded to bring on board the management of the PPMSL credible Nigerians, including retired judges, captains of oil industry and Non-Governmental Organizations to offer more credible surveillance services in the ever-increasing complex oil activities in the Niger-Delta, the PPMSL said.

The oil firm further said “now that peace and tranquility is gradually returning to the Niger-Delta following the granting of amnesty to militants in the region by President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua there will be increased activities of PPMSL
