LAGOS—A coalition of individuals and youth-led organizations and youth-focused presidential debate under the auspices of Enough is Enough Nigeria will Wednesday  partner with Afterschool Peer Mentoring Programmme to host Cross River’s First Youth-Focused Gubernatorial Debate.

The decision, according to the group, was informed by the success of last year’s preliminary edition of the debate.

Expected at the event  are the PDP flag-bearer, Senator Liyel Imoke, Labour Party flag-bearer, Imah Nsa Adegoke, ACN flag-bearer, Usani Usani and  Patrick Okomiso, flag bearer of ANPP

Citing the  2006 Census figures which put the  number s of registered voters at  over 65 per cent for the youth, the moderator of the group, Mr. Chude Jideonwo, said  elections at all tiers of government in the country should be about the youths since they are the  future of the country.

He said: “Therefore, we firmly believe that any individual who desires to serve as chief public servant of the state should engage the youths in the incoming administration.

The debate is designed  to be a direct conversation with young Nigerians on various topics such as education, health, poverty, job and wealth creation; security; environment (Oil spills) and Infrastructure. Questions will be posed by young Nigerians, at home and abroad, via social media networks including Facebook and Twitter, video blog, text message and email. The debate will be live on Cross River State Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC) and streamed online.
