Yenagoa—A university don, Prof. Edmund-Allison Oguru, has been appointed  the new Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, SSG.

Also, Governor Seriake Dickson has approved the appointment of Chief Diekivie Ikiogha as his new Chief of Staff.

Oguru is an indigene of Ogbia, in the East Senatorial District of the state.

Prof. Oguru, until his appointment,  was a agric-cconomics lecturer at Niger Delta University, Amassoma.

Ikiogha, a close confidant of President Goodluck Jonathan, was at various times, Commissioner for Energy and Agriculture in the state and an indigene of Yenagoa.

A statement by Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said both appointments take effect from yesterday.
