Actress, Temitope Aremu, prominent in the Yoruba arm of Nollywood has opened up about the cultural expectations she faced when entering the industry.

In an interview with Potpourri Aremu expressed her initial shock at the tradition of kneeling to greet colleagues and seniors, a practice she found overwhelming.

Asked about the things that shocked her when she got into the movie industry, Aremu said: “It is the fact that I have to start kneeling down to greet everyone, I understand it’s part of our culture but then it was just too much in our side of the industry”.

On if mothers are to blame for the waywardness of some young girls today, the stunning actress responded: “No, I don’t believe so. Raising a child requires more than just being strict. It’s about praying for God’s grace and guidance. As a mother, you can only do your best, but ultimately, it’s God who shapes a child’s path. You need both effort and divine support to steer them in the right direction.”

Recalling how her acting journey began, she said:” It all started when i was in secondary school, I use to go to Odunfa caucus to watch them rehearse and it was from there I picked interest and luckily for me an uncle introduced me to Alhaji Muka Ray and that was how the journey began”.
