In a recent operation, Nigerian Army troops raided a terrorist stronghold in Kaduna, rescuing 13 kidnapped students and others, while neutralizing some insurgents and capturing others alive. The troops also seized a significant cache of arms and ammunition.

According to a statement by the Army, the operation was launched on September 12, 2024, based on reliable intelligence. Troops engaged in an intense firefight at Chigbolu village, Kachia Local Government Area, overpowering the terrorists and forcing them to flee.

The rescued victims, comprising six males and seven females, were evacuated to 1 Division Medical Services and Hospital for medical attention. The troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, ammunition, magazines, a locally fabricated rifle, and cash.

In another operation, troops intercepted two notorious terrorist logistics suppliers, Mallam Usman Waikili and Salisu Idris, at Kagarko village, confiscating cash, SIM cards, mobile phones, and other items.

A separate operation in Suleja, Niger State, resulted in the neutralization of three terrorists and the capture of three others. The suspects led the troops to a hidden armoury, where arms and ammunition were recovered.

The Nigerian Army has commended the troops and urged them to sustain the tempo of the offensives across all theatres, marking a significant victory in the ongoing fight for peace and security.
