The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), has expressed heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Borno state over the devastating flood disaster.
In a message to Governor Prof Babagana Zulum, Marwa empathized with him, the Shehu of Borno, and victims, assuring them that they are not alone during this difficult time.
Similarly, the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, extended his sympathy to Governor Zulum and the people of Borno State, commending the governor’s quick response and decisive actions to alleviate the suffering of affected residents.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, also expressed deep sympathy and condolences to the government and people of Borno State, assuring that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will work closely with relevant authorities to provide immediate relief and support to affected communities.
The flood disaster has displaced thousands of residents and damaged several properties, with 70% of Maiduguri submerged. The NDLEA boss, Minister of Defence, and CDS all praised the resilience of the Borno people and assured support for the state government’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of those impacted.
