The Dangote Group has announced the completion of a multi-million naira Skills Development Centre in Lokoja, Kogi State, aimed at supporting youth empowerment and job creation.

In a statement released by Dangote Cement Plc, the initiative was described as a collaborative effort between the Dangote Group President, Aliko Dangote, and the Kogi State government. The centre is expected to contribute to youth empowerment and accelerate Nigeria’s economic development.

Engr. Azad Nawabuddin, Plant Director of Dangote Cement Plc in Obajana, confirmed that the company plans to deliver the project in the coming months. He explained that the Skills Centre is part of Dangote Cement’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, with several other programs scheduled for implementation.

Nawabuddin emphasized that the centre will play a vital role in Nigeria’s industrialization by providing essential skills necessary for the country’s growth. The state-of-the-art facility is expected to generate skills and create job opportunities for Nigerian youths, the primary beneficiaries.

“Dangote Cement Plc is committed to various developmental programs in our host communities, supported by an active Community Development Agreement (CDA) that fosters peaceful coexistence,” Nawabuddin stated.

He also highlighted other CSR projects undertaken by the company, including the construction of Nigeria’s longest concrete road, connecting Obajana to Kabba, a multimillion-naira clinic in Iwaa, and the provision of essential services such as water, electricity, and healthcare facilities.

“Additionally, we have implemented various empowerment schemes worth billions of naira,” he added.
