Jos – A cleric Canon Justice Okoro, has called for sober reflection on the way things are going in the country stressing the need to seek God’s face to determine the way forward.
According to Canon Okoro, Nigeria has been celebrating speed at the expense of direction adding “speed is irrelevant when heading in the wrong direction.â€
He spoke while delivering a sermon entitled, The Stations of Grace at the ECWA Plateau Church Katon Rikkos in the Plateau State capital to commemorate the 50th birthday of a judge of the Jos High Court, Justice Yargata Nimpar.
Okoro, who cited Matthew 14: 22-33 and Exodus 19: 4-6, stressed the need for Nigeria and Nigerians to confront their challenges, noting that the things we failed to confront as a nation in the past have now become problems.
He challenged Nigerians to stand for the truth and do what is right in whatever field they found themselves as “we cannot say we are for God and do things that dishonour God.â€
Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs. Pauline Tallen described Justice Nimpar as a shining star among female judges saying, “you are really making us proud by always standing by the truthâ€.
She thanked God for what he is using the celebrant to do on the bench and prayed God to continue to uphold her and grant her more wisdom to discharge her duties excellently.
