Akinkuade explains Rising Stars’ relocation to Ekiti

As the Week 10 of the Nigerian Premier League gets underway tomorrow across the various cities in the country, Rising Stars FC Supervisor, Olufusayo Akinkuade has explained why the team is relocating to Ekiti State for its games.

Akinkuade told Inside Out Premier League at the Dipo Dina International Stadium after his teams’ 1-0 win over visiting Warri Wolves that the move was informed by the need to bring their matches closer to the fans.

He also said that the reconstruction of the Akure Township Stadium is almost completed and will be ready for use.

“We want to get closer home so we will have our fans trooping to the stadium for better support. Football is enjoyed when the stadium is very full, this we don’t enjoy here in Ijebu-Ode.

The stadium in Akure will soon be ready for games in the shortest time, this is why we want to get close to the fans so they will appreciate our brand of football,” Akinkuade said.
