Akinbobola yet to receive suspension letter

Almost two months since Board member of the Nigerian Premier League, NPL, Akin Akinbobola was suspended, Inside Out Premier League can confirm that he is yet to receive any written document to that effect, reports Ime Bassey.

Akinbobola informed Inside Out Premier league at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, that he cannot take any action for now, as the football house is not settled following its sacking by a Federal High court in Abuja.

“The NFF and the NPL are not settled, they (NPL) said they have suspended me, up till now I have not receive any letter to that effect. It means that I still remain a member of the league Board.

Even if they have served me the letter, a Federal High has declared the NFF and the NPL illegal, so I cannot even appeal my suspension. I am watching and waiting,” Akinbobola said.

Reacting to the missing money from the NPL coffers, the Ondo State-born sports administrator said, “this shows the level of insincerity of those managing our league. If they continue like this, the league might not have any sponsors,” Akinbobola added.
