Appearance and presentation are keys to getting attention in the competitive market place.And as a way of transforming the image of many corporate organizations, Boye Falonipe,  Principal Consultant at NOIR ENHANCEMENT, an Image Coaching firm in Lagos, Nigeria  has come up with a book that addresses the issues of personal appearance and presentation as key issues in corporate branding. The book is titled, Succeeding with Appearance in Business and Career.

The motivational book which has been described as a manual for carving an image of confidence, achievement, competence  through dress sense  was officially presented to the public last week in Lagos.

Speaking at the presentation, the chief launcher  at the occasion, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa who described the day as a very good day said that life is an embodiment of experiences. According to Ohuabunwa, a former Mayor of the Alfa club,” Boye and I share many things in common, we graduated from Ife, belonged to Alfa club and have maintained a relationship.

“one of the things we taught ourselves is how to be gentleman, aculturize and dress well and need for us to put a boundary for ourselves, take care of our friends and wives etc and it was on that basis that Boye made something out of it.” ,he further explained.

Continuing, he added that “as an entepreneur, I am happy when I see people make a niche for themselves and Boye has started that by writing a book. There is more needs to be met, for people looking to work from places created by others. I want to tell them that there are jobs everywhere, it only needs for you to discover yourself.”

In her review of the book, Afi Okosun  said the book  focuses on the topic of Business etiquette, source of information for both trainers in the field of Image Consulting, and professionals and ordinary people aspiring to achieve that polished professional image that would take them to a next level in their career. The book according to her is above the business and casual form of dressing.

On his part, the author explained that, “I have a background that encouraged me to present myself properly and I taught that worked for me in many areas of my life. Image is about things you know, it is very important. So, I thought that if I have a little knowledge of it, why not impact it to other people?”

The event also featured black carpet reception, business dress runway and book reading. There was also display of the book that shows the practical aspect of what the book offers.
