Chief Executive Officer of Chi-Kleen Professional Services, Stacey Adol, has stressed the importance of deep cleaning in pest management, noting that it can help individuals take proactive steps to prevent infestations and maintain a healthier environment.

According to her fumigation and pest control in Nigeria is a service that is continuously being abused in Nigeria.  She said  a lot of homes opt for this service even when they might not necessarily need it.

She noted that many people do not consider the option of intensively cleaning(deep cleaning) their house first before considering fumigation because fumigation and pest control services are easily seen as quick fixes.

She said: “Deep cleaning is a concept that is entirely new to a lot of people in our side of the world as it’s often mistaken to be the “ordinary cleaning that we often perform at home. However, that is far from the truth. The effects of a pest control or fumigation service may be very short lived if a house is not properly deep cleaned prior to the service.”

She said conducting a fumigation or pest control service in a house that hasn’t been deep cleaned prior is just like applying deodorant on a body that hasn’t showered.

Highlighting  how deep cleaning can effectively  eradicate pests,she said: “Pests like rodents, cockroaches, and bed bugs often hide in cluttered areas, hence, deep cleaning helps reduce or eliminate their hiding areas. During deep cleaning you would often see these pests scurry around looking for cover or someplace else to hide.

Deep cleaning involves thorough sanitizing and organization, making it harder for pests to find food and survive.

“It can help improve ventilation, and reduce humidity, making the environment less conducive to pest infestations; identify signs of pest activity, such as droppings, nests, or egg shells, allowing for early intervention. It can prepare a space for pest control treatments by removing obstacles & breeding grounds and ensuring thorough access for pest control professionals.

“It’s essential to raise awareness about the connection between deep cleaning and pest control in Nigeria. By emphasizing the importance of deep cleaning in pest management, individuals can take proactive steps to prevent infestations and maintain a healthier environment.”
