BIGWIL IHRO-Africa, PCC launch initiative to boost investigative diplomacy and capacity building

BIGWIL IHRO-Africa, in partnership with the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, is set to launch an initiative to improve investigative diplomacy and capacity building.

This collaboration highlights a mutual dedication to enhancing the skills of staff and stakeholders in tackling complex investigative and diplomatic issues. The new program focusses on advancing public accountability, human rights, and good governance through innovative dispute-resolution methods.

By equipping personnel with essential skills, the initiative aims to improve the handling of investigations and diplomatic matters, thus fostering institutional development and stronger governance structures.

According to Nwaru Caroline Oluchi, CEO of the Women Aid Empowerment Network Initiative (WAENI), who reported on the initiative, “This collaboration represents a forward-thinking approach to public service reform, emphasizing the importance of capacity building as a foundation for sustainable development and effective governance. Through this initiative, Bigwil-Ihro Africa and the PCC are setting a benchmark for how partnerships can drive meaningful progress in public accountability and human rights advocacy across the nation.”

The launch event featured notable figures such as Hon. Commissioner Irene Chuka Ogbogu from the PCC, Ambassador Dr. Chimbo Obieze of the International Human Rights Observatory (IHRO-Africa), Prof. Abudu Adamu Shaffa, National Secretary of IHRO-Africa, and Ambassador Mukolu Anthony, Director of Special Duties and SDG at IHRO-Africa, highlighting the initiative’s significance in advancing sustainable development and reinforcing governance frameworks nationwide.
