Emir tasks police on proactive measures against kidnapping

Ilorin — Worried by the rising cases of kidnapping across the country, Chairman of Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers,  Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari has tasked the state police command to take proactive measures to check invasion of kidnappers in the state.

In a related development,  the state Governor, Dr Bukola Saraki in his Eid-el-Fitri message, urged Muslims in the country to promote and reinforce those virtues and qualities they gained during  the Ramadan fast.

The monarch, spoke yesterday  at  the Eid-el-Fitri prayer held at the Eid praying ground in Ilorin where Muslims in the town who just concluded the Ramadan obligation offered the prayers challenged the police authorities in the state to do all they could to ensure that no such cases is recorded in the state.

Gambari  however commended the police on the security in  the state saying the situation had greatly improved under the present leadership of the police reiterating however that   there was  the need for the police to intensify efforts on the security keeping in order to discourage  kidnappers from invading the state.
