Expert advocates sustainable, robust energy solutions in Nigeria

As Nigeria grapples with epileptic power supply affecting the entire economic system, Joseph Chukwuneike, a renowned tech expert and process engineer, has emphasized the need for Nigeria to adopt sustainable and robust energy solutions to drive its power sector.

“Nigeria’s reliance on traditional energy distribution methods is not only inefficient but also harmful to the environment. It’s time for us to embrace renewable energy sources and advanced simulation tools like MATLAB to achieve sustainable energy solutions,” he said.

According to Chukwuneike, MATLAB provides sophisticated simulation and control tools for developing and managing microgrid systems, which can function independently or in conjunction with the main power grid.

“MATLAB’s real-time data analysis capabilities enable continuous monitoring and predictive analysis, optimizing energy flow, reducing waste, and enhancing system reliability.

“Its controlled techniques offer precise regulation of energy distribution within microgrids, ensuring stability and efficiency,” he explained.

Nigeria’s electricity grid has faced recurrent failures, highlighting the urgent need for more resilient and adaptive energy systems.

Chukwuneike stressed that integrating renewable energy sources through advanced simulation and control techniques can provide a more stable and reliable energy supply, mitigating the risks associated with grid failures.

He said: “We need to invest in robust green energy infrastructure, including well-equipped laboratories for advanced predictive technologies.

“This will enable us to address evolving environmental challenges and achieve long-term environmental and operational goals.”

As an Automation and Process Control Engineer, Chukwuneike has made significant contributions to addressing energy challenges.

His work integrates advanced techniques like MATLAB simulation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to tackle energy distribution challenges and highlight the importance of sustainable energy measures.

“I believe that with the right tools and expertise, Nigeria can develop a more resilient, efficient, and eco-friendly energy system. We must work together to achieve this goal,” he concluded
