The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, Ekpoma, Edo State Chapter, has recognized Basil Nnaemeka Obodo, a distinguished researcher at Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State, with the Outstanding Community Health Leadership Award.

This accolade celebrates his remarkable voluntary efforts and leadership in raising awareness and conducting campaigns on Lassa fever, a significant community health issue in the region.

As the president and founder of the Students Mentor Forum, Obodo has been instrumental in spearheading educational programs and community health awareness campaigns.

His role as a licensed medical laboratory scientist and lecturer underscores his commitment to advancing community safety and health.

The Association’s statement highlighted Obodo’s dedication to leading seminars and outreach programs on Lassa fever, emphasizing the importance of preventive measures.

Obodo, who holds a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, recently received a scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in clinical laboratory science in Hungary.
