The dream of every parent is to see their baby live, grow healthy, become adults with a glowing skin devoid of  blemishes. This,  prompted PZ Cussons, manufacturers of Cussons baby range of  skin care products to introduce its range to expectant mothers in hospitals across Nigeria.

The products, Cussons baby soap, cream with vitamin E, Lotion, oil, Powder, Jelly and Baby care wipes with an alcoholic free formulation and the diaper rash The campaign tagged “Cussons happy baby re-assured mum” is targeted at expectant mothers and children from five years and under.

Speaking, Mrs. Titilola Igri-Offor, Senior Marketing Manager, PZ  Cussons said that the company was at the Island maternity hospital to teach expectant mothers how to take care of the babies skin, this she said will take place in General hospitals, healthcare hospitals and private hospitals, and that the company’s exercise so far has shown that mothers care about the welfare of their children.

On interview, Igri-Offor said that almost all the hospitals in Lagos State will be covered and Pan Nigeria, while noting that  the initial campaign covered about 400 hospitals , and that the company is ready to covered another 400.

She stated also that the campaign will be an annual event were mothers will be teach how to take care of their babies. The Marketing Manager pointed out that there were positive responses from the public, particularly the mothers.

Further, she said that company has been investing lots of fund in Research and Development, as a baby care company it can not afford to toil with R&D.

Contributing, Roseline Abaraonye, Brand Manager of the company observed that the company has been getting feedbacks from the hospitals, whilst some mothers come to the company to request for  information from where the products can be obtained.

Abaraonye noted that there are reasons mothers should prefer the Cussons baby range, she said, “ it contains Vitamin E, Vitamin e is a natural ingredient that is packed with so much power,it is extremely effective at moisturising baby’s skin and keeping it hydrated.”

Continuing, she queried, why is baby’s different.? Reasons , she stressed it is thinner, more fragile and less oily than an adult’s, it is more prone to dryness, it is more prone to irritation, It produces less melanin, the substance that helps protect skin from sun damage and has less resistant to bacteria and harmful substances in the environment, she explained.

On baby Skin stages, she stated that newborns and babies have a thin skin and permeable, isn’t yet functioning at full capacity. The skin is very vulnerable to its surroundings, especially environmental toxins from personal care products, food, clothing, and cleaning supplies.
