—– 120 monarchs to grace lsinkan Day celebration

A N5 billion fund is to be raised during this year’s lsinkin Day celebration in Akure, Ondo state, for the developmental projects conceived by the monarch, the lralepo of lsinkin, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ojo.

The chairman planning committee of the 2024 lsinkin Day and the Olu of Kajola-Isinkan, Oba Olumuyiwa Akintola Aguda, said this in Akure, the state capital.

Oba Aguda, said that the funds to be raised would be channeled towards skill acquisition for the youths in the community and the construction of a civic center.

He added that ” The Isinkan Day is primarily to showcase the rich culture and traditions of the Isinkan people and to raise funds for the developmental projects conceived by His Ancestral Majesty, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ojo.

The chairman, said that ” As you are all aware the current Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ojo, ascended the throne of his forefathers on the 4th of November, 2021 and was presented with the staff of office on the 14th of July, 2022 by Governor Lucky Orimisan Alyedatwa who represented the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

“To celebrate with us we are expecting no fewer than 120 traditional rulers across Nigeria including Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman, the 11th Emir of Bade, from Yobe State, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, the Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, the Oore of Otun Ekiti and many others.

“We will also confer award of excellence on some eminent Nigerians including the first President of the Ondo State Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Folashade Aguda-Taiwo, the first female SAN from Ondo State, Funmi Falana SAN, two top military officers, a DSS chieftain and a retired director from the Federal Ministry of Power.

“Some of the dignitaries expected are Dr Wale Babalakin CFR SAN, Mr. Yinka Akande (MD Dangote Industries Free Zone Development Company).

“Our heroes will also be recognized posthumously, one of them is the father of former PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede SAN.

” Isinkan has a very rich and ancient history with the present Iralepo being the 94th Oba to sit on this exalted stool. The 2024 Isinkan Day Celebration will kick off on the 9th of July, 2024.

The skill acquisition and empowerment program taught during the week of the celebration include Solar Panel Assembly, Laptops & Mobile Phone repairs, Website design & online marketing, Cinematography, Photography and many others.

Other activities include a visit to Olokuta Correctional Center and Juvenile Home, a thanksgiving day (Liberation Day) at St. Thomas’s Anglican Church Isinkan on Sunday 11th of July by 10am and a reception follows immediately after at Iralepo’s Palace Ita-Owa, Isinkan.

The Presentation of awards would take place on Wednesday 17th July, 2024, at the  lralepo’s Palace Hall, Ita-Owa, Health fair, Screening of blood pressure and blood sugar by medical professionals will take place at the Iralepo’s Palace Hall, a football match, traditional games, A sun night,carnival, jumat service and the Conferment of Chieftaincy Titles at the monarchs palace.

Also, lined up include the unveiling /launching of Isinkan Anthem/Special Isinkan songs and a thanksgiving Service slated for 21st of July, 2024.
