In a significant milestone, the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH) in Benin City has expanded its services to include surgery, obstetrics/gynaecology, specialized cardiology, and neurology, bridging the gap between mental health care and specialized treatments.

According to the Chief Medical Director/CEO, Dr. Imafidon Agbonile, the expansion aims to provide holistic and integrated healthcare services, reduce stigma associated with mental illness, and improve the hospital’s internally generated revenue.

The hospital now offers a range of services, including state-of-the-art molecular laboratory, radio-diagnostic, 4-D ultrasound, immunization, and more. Experienced specialists staff the hospital, dedicated to providing compassionate and effective treatment using modern equipment.

Dr. Agbonile emphasized the hospital’s commitment to improving healthcare access and quality, promoting a more inclusive approach to mental health. The expansion marks a new chapter in the hospital’s history, promising greater health outcomes and reduced stigma associated with mental illness.

This development positions the hospital as a leading healthcare provider in Edo State, offering comprehensive patient-centred care and setting a new standard for integrated healthcare services in Nigeria.
