119 youths in Plateau State have received training in videography, smartphone photography, data analysis, content writing proficiency, and the art of production for commercial purposes.

The youths who made the first batch of 1,000 youths scheduled to be trained in 2024 underwent a two-week intensive training to foster self-sufficiency and generate employment opportunities.

At the graduation ceremony held at the weekend in Jos, Sunday Polycarp, the Director of Kefiano Creative Hub, an outfit that sponsored the training; stressed the need for skills development among the youths saying they are key to alleviating unemployment, poverty, and enabling sustainable economic growth.

His words, “The training programme, characterized by its holistic approach to skills acquisition, sought to equip participants with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in a competitive job market.

“Through hands-on experiences and experts’ guidance, the 119 youths emerged with a new-found sense of purpose and self-assurance, ready to embark on their professional journeys with confidence and competence.”

The founder of the Kefiano Creative Hub, Kefas Wungak explained the programme is for people from disadvantaged backgrounds irrespective of their religion or tribe and the beneficiaries are equipped to step down the knowledge in their communities so that others can also benefit.

A beneficiary, Masara Kim commended the gesture saying it demonstrates a remarkable commitment to personal growth and skill development.

He stated, “The success of the training underscores the transformative power of investing in youth development and skill acquisition. By nurturing talents, fostering creativity, and promoting entrepreneurship, the organization is paving the way for a more prosperous future for the youths of Plateau State, laying the foundation for sustainable growth and economic empowerment.”
