Two persons have been arraigned before an Asaba high court for allegedly kidnapping a medical doctor and subsequently demanding a ransom of N50 million from the wife of the doctor.

Prosecution in its 5-count charge stated that “Obiora Igboanugo and Ikechukwu Udekwe on or about the 10^th day of June, 2010 at Akwuebulu layout, Asaba, within the Asaba judicial division kidnapped one Dr. Walter Onubogu and imprisoned him against his will”.

It further stated that the two accused persons “demanded for the sum of fifty million naira from one Mrs. Ifeoma Onubogu with menaces”.

Further hearing in the case has been adjourned to 28^th of February this year when other similar kidnap cased would be heard.
