Popular movie star and film producer, Titi Kuti well known as Ade Tiger, recently held a private screening of his film, Colour of Love, which was hosted by Canadian mayor, Patrick Brown of Brampton, Ontario.

The movie which is Titi Kuti’s first international film as a producer/executive producer, also has Canadian businessman “Oshoke Obozuwa”, as an co-executive producer on the project.

The private screening had the Mayor of Brampton, Patrick Brown, the Economic Development team of the City of Brampton, councillors and representatives of various  arms of Brampton cabinet in attendance.

“Nollywood content has shown great potential for driving the diversity film production market in Canada. The doors of Brampton will always be open for support and collaboration”. Brown stated.

Revealing how he was able to secure a private screening at the City Hall, with the mayor in attendance, Kuti said, “We were invited by the Mayor himself through his Economic Development and Investment Attraction team. The mayor came to our location when we were filming and has since kept an eye on us, requesting to see the finished product when it was ready.”

The actor however noted that after the Canadian premiere, he would ensure the film reaches other countries.

Titi Kuti has had an interesting transition in the entertainment industry spanning about 15 years of active practice across all sectors of the industry, from television to reality format production, to film production and acting for screen.

In 2010, he filmed his first TV series titled ‘Emerald’. In 2018, he played a supporting role as Ade Tiger, on the Netflix Original ‘King of Boys’, and returned on screen in 2021, with a major role in the continuity series of the Netflix Original. He played a major role in another Netflix Original, ‘Anikulapo; Rise of the Spectre’ in 2023, with an almost unbelievable transition in his character “Adigun”. In January 2022, the Stakers Championship reality TV show, unveiled Kuti, as one of its co-hosts, alongside Uti Nwachukwu and Liquorose.

Kuti was born in Lagos and grew up in Lagos Island and Surulere. He is of the Ransome-Kuti family. His new movie ‘Colour of Love’ is set to hit the screen this 2024.
