Senator Okakuru Ede Dafinone of the Delta Central Senatorial District has reiterated his commitment to finishing all ongoing projects within his first term in office, despite the challenges.

The lawmaker made this vow during an interactive session with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the eight local governments in Delta Central who were in attendance at the consultative meeting held at the Fiesta Dome in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

In his opening remarks, Senator Dafinone warmly greeted the large crowd for turning up at the forum, pointing out that he remains focused on serving the district with distinction at the federal level.

He went on to highlight numerous projects already proposed on the national budget across the local governments, which drew wide applause from the constituents.

However, Dafinone urged Delta Central constituents to be patient, stressing that he is yet to fully actualize his mandate of advancing the lives of the people.

This prompted recommendations, suggestions and opinions from representatives of each local government who took turns to tender their pressing needs to the Senator.

In response, Dafinone assured the people that he would take their demands to the federal level and do his best for them.

Speaking further at the event, the Senator said: “My dear people of Delta Central, I stand before you today with a heart of gratitude for the opportunity to serve. When you elected me, you placed your trust in me to work for your upliftment.”

“We have achieved significant progress despite challenges. Several projects are now in different completion stages across the eight LGAs,” he noted.

However, Dafinone emphasized that he would not rest on his laurels, as there is still more work to be done to realize their vision of prosperity.

He gave the people his word that by 2027 he will hand over a transformed Senatorial District with tangible dividends of democracy.

The lawmaker further pledged to diligently serve the constituents and use their resources judiciously for their benefit until the end of his first term.

Reacting to the speech, Paul Oghwolo, of Sapele Local Government Area lauded the Senator’s commitment and looked forward to a completed legacy of development.

This interactive session is seen as a testament to Dafinone’s resolve in fulfilling all promises to the people of Delta Central before the expiration of his four-year tenure. Only time will tell if he is able to keep this vow.
