The Paramount King of Ndigbo in the Republic of Ghana, HRM Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Ihenetu has felicitated with HRM King Dr. Michael Ateke Tom (Amanayabo of Okochiri Kingdom, Seukro of Niger Delta), on the leadership milestone of his traditional stool’s elevation to a first-class status; making him one of the most revered traditional rulers not just in Rivers State but across the Niger Delta region of Southern Nigeria.

In a letter signed by the Umuduruoha Amigbo, Nwagele, Imo state-born respected Royal Father, and made available to his Director on Media Strategy and Communications, Njoku Macddonald Obinna, he saluted the leadership sagacity, fatherly role, resilience, and peaceful disposition of HRM King Ateke Michael Tom in championing the cause of peace, unity, love, and community development through his yearly sponsored carnival and other cultural festivities that unite Okochiri Kingdom and her neighbouring towns, while promoting the culture and tradition of his people.
Ezeigbo Ghana said: “I write to express my profound goodwill message to a respected royal father, friend, and beloved brother, HRM King Ateke Michael Tom; a true national patriot, peace ambassador and bridge builder as you have officially been elevated to a first-class King status.
Over the years, you have demonstrated commitment in your traditional leadership stool by serving as a connecting link between the government and the people you are leading; defending and protecting their interests while ensuring that your community is not neglected in the developmental agenda of government at all levels.
“While commending the Rivers State governor, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for this timely decision, I pray God Almighty to crown you with more wisdom like King Solomon as you diligently carry your assignment in the service of Okochiri Kingdom and Rivers State people. Be assured of the assurances of my highest esteem regard, support, and solidarity to your traditional stool as always.”
Among members of his royal cabinet that accompanied him to the watershed event included but not limited to; a former Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, Chief Abiye Sekibo, Chief Akalugbo, Chief Amangi Sunday, Chief Jackson Adokiye, Chief Papamie.
