Former Super Eagles star, Humphrey Edobor has expressed skepticism over the present form of the nation’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, stressing that most of them lack the commitment needed to lift the team.
In a chat with Sunday Vanguard Sports from his base in the US, the ex Flying Eagles member to the Mexico ’83 World Youth Championship said the attitude of the players toward the country’s green and white jersey speaks volumes of their commitment.
The former Leventis FC and NNB FC player held back some his fears as touching the nations’ football stressing that time will help sharpen it.
“I am not here to judge anyone, but what I hope and want for him (Keshi) and his wards is the best this year because we can’t afford to miss out on the Nations Cup again. There is a lot to say, but time will sharpen it,” Edobor said.
“It is pathetic and painful to see the way our players respond on the pitch when they wear the country’s colours. In my time, putting on the green and white jersey meant a lot to us then and we cherished it so much that we gave our all, but today, the reverse is the case,” Edobor added.
