We are worried about insecurity in Southeast – Igbo-Biafra Nationalists

By Chinonso Alozie

The Igbo-Biafra Nationalists Movement, IBN, on Sunday, said they were worried about the escalation of insecurity in the South East region.

The pro-Biafra group made this statement to Vanguard through the Public Relations Officer, PRO, Nneka Loveth Nzegwu.

They among other things were of the view that; “The Igbo-Biafra Nationalists Movement (IBN) and the Indigenous People of Igbo Nation for Self-determination (IPINS) is deeply concerned about the escalating State-sponsored insecurity in Alaigbo/ South East/Igbo-Biafra. Recent reports from concerned residents of Imo State have revealed a disturbing trend of an influx of “strange hunters” suspected to be of Fulani origin. These individuals are reportedly being transported and dumped by trailers into various communities such as Avu and Obinze in Owerri-West Local Government Area, as well as several other suburbs in the state.

“Additionally, the Biafra Human Rights Advocates (BHRA) had earlier exposed that the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore secretly deployed its armed Fulani herdsmen across Nigeria, particularly in the South East/Igbo-Biafra region, to carry out their conspiratorial and unscrupulous agenda against host communities. The deployment of these armed individuals poses a significant threat to the peace and security of our communities and must be addressed with the utmost urgency.

“The president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has command responsibility and cannot continue to feign ignorance of these atrocities, which have reached the threshold of crimes against humanity. Since he cannot hold these criminals liable, then he, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must be held accountable. Those in positions of power and influence must be held responsible for their actions, or lack thereof, in addressing the grave security challenges facing our nation.”

“We will not fall for the gimmicks of arranged or staged arrests of individuals such as the president of the cattle rearers, Bello Bodeje. These arrests are merely a smokescreen designed to distract from the larger issue at hand – the orchestrated campaign of violence and intimidation being carried out by certain politicians and their allies.

“We call on all residents of Imo State, Alaigbo, and Nigeria as a whole to remain vigilant and united against these malicious attempts to make our land unlivable. We must stand together in solidarity against those who seek to undermine our peace and security for their selfish gains.

“The Igbo-Biafra Nationalists Movement remains steadfast in its commitment to defending our people and our land from external threats and internal manipulation,” the group said.
