A frontline pro-democracy group, Kudirat Abiola Corner Group based in New York, USA, will be holding a workshop during which they will brainstorm on democracy in Nigeria and the way forward.
The event, titled ‘An Assessment of the Role of NADECO Abroad in the Struggle for Democracy’, is being organised to celebrate the 75th birthday anniversary of Otunba Ogunkeyede a hero in the valiant struggle for the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria, during the infamous era of the military dictator, late General Sanni Abacha
In a statement issued by the group’s spokesman, High Chief Owolabi Salis, prominent personalities will converge from all over the world to grace the occasion.
Holding on Thursday, March 7, at Atlantic Avenue Brooklyn New York in honor of the New York-based Nigerian freedom fighter who championed the drive that led to the renaming of the street beside the Nigerian House in New York as Kudirat Abiola Corner by the New York City Council.
“This is indeed payback time for Otunba Ogunkeyede, one of the finest specimens of national patriotism, who by his struggle for liberty has succeeded in carving his name in gold in the hall of fame,” Salis who, is also the Chief Host, stated further.
