Gov Oborevwori commissions hospital in Warri south

…lauds council boss Tidi

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has commissioned a tastefully equipped 30 bed space cottage hospital built by the outgoing Chairman of Warri South local government area, Dr Michael Tidi in the headquarters of the local government, Warri.

The governor who was very impressed with the well-furnished cottage hospital with modern health facilities said the hospital was another proof that with financial autonomy for local governments they would also deliver dividends of democracy in their areas.

The governor said the hospital would provide quality medicare to residents of the local government and environs, stressing that he was impressed.

“With this hospital, our people, our women and children will have access to quality and affordable health care services. This is what cottage hospitals are known for. This is why I am in support of financial autonomy for local government administration”.

The governor also commended the council Chairman for his record of performance in the local government.

“I am glad that the Warri South Local Government Area under the leadership of Hon Dr Michael Tidi, has performed very well.

“I am impressed by the array of projects that have been executed by the council. You have done very well and I expect this momentum to be sustained by the next administration,”.

The council boss, Dr Tidi in his address appealed to the governor to deploy committed medical hands to optimize medical equipment in the hospital for the good of patients.

He also spoke of some of his completed projects, including the Warri South local government lodge, an apartment for the council Chairman, furnished to taste that was commissioned by former governor Ifeanyi Okowa before he left office.

Prominent personalities at the event include former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, HRM Morris Ogheneochuko Eyekpimi,
the member representing Warri South Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, Dr. Augustine Uroye, former Minister of State for Defence, Chief (Dr.) Roland Oritsejafor and many others.

The 30 bed space hospital among others, is fitted with an Admin office, Card room, Male/ female Wards, Private Ward, Pediatric Ward, Chief Matron room, Labour Ward, Milking Station (for breastfeeding mothers) Recovery rooms, Main theatre, Scan rooms, Scrub and storage room for staff, Theatre, Laboratory, Consultancy room, conveniences.
