The youth wing of the socio-cultural association, Kuteb Yatso Nigeria, has alerted that the proposed rotation of the first-class traditional stool of Takum local government by Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, will amount to the disintegration of their cultural heritage.

Addressing the press Thursday in Jalingo, the state capital, President of the Youth Group, Ande Yakubu, alongside a representative of the Ukwe ruling house, urged the state Assembly to be fair on the matter.

According to him, “the Takum traditional institution is as old as mankind. This action of the state government will dismantle and abrogate the existing traditional institution.

“We have presented our paper at the public hearing, and our position remains the same.

“Even if the law permits the governor to create chiefdoms, I do not think the law allows the governor to demolish an existing chiefdom.

“And our way of protest in this matter is through this means, to draw attention to the issue in Takum.”

Also, Prince Sule Yusu, who spoke on behalf of the Ukwe ruling house, prayed that God “will give the governor the wisdom he gave King Solomon in the Bible” to resolve the Chieftaincy tussle in Takum.
