LAGOS – National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said, weekend, that it seized hard drugs worth N100 million at the Murtala Muhammed Intentional Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
Three suspects (names withheld) were arrested in connection with the seizure.
Sources said the drugs, weighing 4kg and 5.1kg, tested positive for high grade cocaine and heroin, respectively.
According to the sources, the drugs were being imported into the country from Brazil and Pakistan.
Airport commander of NDLEA, Mr. Hamza Umar said the drugs were discovered in the false layers of the suspects’ luggage, adding that the crackdown occurred last weekend, when preparation for the Christmas celebration was at its peak.
